AMC reopening 98% of its US theaters by Friday – KIRO 7 Information Seattle
LEAWOOD, Kan. – Moviegoers to Rejoice – AMC Theaters announced that 98% of its theaters will open their doors by Friday.

The country’s largest theater chain also announced in a press release that 99% of their locations will be open by March 26th and 52 of their 54 locations in California will open their doors by Monday.
“Exactly one year ago we closed all AMC locations in the US,” said Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC, in a statement on Wednesday. “I am delighted to say that by the end of next week we expect 99% of our US locations to reopen. As we have done in all locations across the country, AMC is being reopened and reopened with the utmost care for the health and safety of our guests and employees through our AMC Safe & Clean policies and protocols developed in consultation with and with Clorox operated current and former faculty at the renowned Harvard University School of Public Health.
“AMC Safe & Clean includes social distancing and automatic seat blocking in every auditorium, the compulsory wearing of masks and improved air filtration with MERV-13 air filters, as well as many other important measures in the areas of health, disinfection and cleanliness.”
This week’s reopening will include all of Los Angeles County’s 25 theaters in Los Angeles County and all eight locations in San Diego County, the company said.
AMC, which has more than 630 theaters in the U.S., was forced to close during the COVID-19 pandemic and nearly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc.’s shares rose more than 3% to $ 14.03 in afternoon trading Thursday, according to The Associated Press.
