As Vice President Biden’s 2-Day Journey to Los Angeles Concludes, President Obama’s Go to Looms; Visitors to Be Impacted

For the second straight day, Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Los Angeles was set to block traffic during the morning commute as a series of road closures went into effect on Tuesday.
The vice president was there on Monday to take part in fundraising campaigns for Democratic candidates ahead of next month’s important mid-term elections.
On Tuesday morning, he was due to attend a panel discussion with Mayor Eric Garcetti at the LA Baking Company in Lincoln Heights about raising the minimum wage
After the meeting, Biden would go to a fundraiser at the Los Angeles City Club, according to a White House press release.
The vice president would then leave LA for Bakersfield, where he would attend a rally at CSU Bakersfield from 3:30 p.m.
Some roads in the Los Angeles area were expected to be closed in the morning and early afternoon.
Motorists were instructed by the Los Angeles Police Department to avoid the following areas on Tuesday:
- Close to Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard from 8am to 10am
- North Broadway between West 19th Avenue and Daly Street from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- North Spring Street between 18 South Avenue and Arcadia Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Near West Cesar East Chavez Avenue and North Grand Avenue from 11am to 2pm
- Grand Avenue between West Cesar East Chavez Avenue and West Olympic Boulevard from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Two days after the Vice President finished his visit, President Obama was due to travel to Los Angeles Thursday to hold a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at the home of actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
As in previous trips, the President’s trip to Southern California was meant to have an impact on traffic.
