Browns land surprising move rusher in CBS Sports activities’ newest mock draft

It’s always nice to find a bogus design that shakes up the status quo. We found one that does multiple projections that are rarely seen elsewhere.

CBS Sports’ Emory Hunt offers an unconventional route to # 26 and the Browns. Hunt has several prospects that are significantly higher than most contemporary bogus designs.

Among the players who aren’t normally expected to fall off the board before the Browns make their first pick, but have disappeared into Hunt’s most recent incarnation:

  • Ohio State OL Josh Myers
  • Florida State CB Asante Samuel Jr.
  • Washington EDGE Joe Tryon
  • BYU OL Brady Christensen
  • Washington DT Levi Onwuzurike

And Brown’s own pick is someone who isn’t normally projected onto Cleveland in the first, Miami EDGE Jaelan Phillips.

The Browns add another pressure player across from Myles Garrett. Phillips is excellent on both ends of the defense so you don’t have to take him off the field, much to the chagrin of opposing offenses.

Phillips, who started out at UCLA, is a tempting athlete but had some college concussion issues that need clearing up. If he’s healthy, Phillips could be a differentiator for the Browns in such a situation.
