Center college soccer cancelled in Stanly, different sports activities to maneuver ahead – The Stanly Information & Press
Stanly County Middle School football will not compete with other team sports this spring, according to a recent decision by Stanly County Schools (SCS).
Beverly Pennington, sports director of SCS, said low attendance “did not support the advancement of football”.
The decision was made early enough for football athletes to still be able to run cross-country.
Pennington said three middle school sports are opening up this week: cross country skiing, girls’ volleyball and cheerleading.
Spring sports for the middle schools resumed after the spring break from April 2nd to 11th this year.
