NEW ULM – The Brown County Highway Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office are reminding motorists that the CR 13 from New Ulm to Hanska will remain closed during construction.
Brown County Highway Engineer Wayne Stevens said the road construction was up “Come alone nice” expected to be completed by the end of August.
“Workers put shoulders on the road, guardrails on the bridge, cut edges, rumble and will graze it.” said Stevens. “There were a lot of drivers on the road. More people want to cross on CR 25, which is not good in the middle of construction. Lots of trucks drive up and down the street. It’s a dangerous place. “
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, roadblocks are being put in place to notify drivers of the roadblock. When a road is closed, it is illegal to drive in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $ 1,000 and / or sentenced to 90 days in prison. If travelers have to be rescued from a blocked road, there are additional costs.
