Cunningham Points Assertion After Meeting Passes Historic Small Enterprise Aid Invoice • Atascadero Information

SACRAMENTO – Rep. Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo) made the following statement on Feb.22 after the congregation passed a historic Small Business Facilitation Bill that received more than 2 billion in grants for nonprofits and small businesses US dollars includes:

“Our local small businesses and nonprofits – and their employees – have borne the brunt of the recurring COVID-19 lockdown in California. As a result, thousands of California companies and nonprofits have had to close their doors for good, and millions of employees have been forced to navigate a broken jobless system that sometimes took months to receive benefits.

“Thanks to an unexpected budget surplus, we have the means to help some of these troubled small businesses and nonprofits. This historic auxiliary bill will help organizations pay their bills, save jobs and keep their doors open.

“Small businesses and nonprofits – and the thousands of local workers who depend on them – are the backbone of the Central Coast economy. We must continue to do everything we can to ensure their survival. I am proud to help draft this bill and to ask the governor to sign it immediately. “

SB 87, co-authorized by Cunningham, creates a $ 2.075 billion COVID-19 relief program for California small businesses. If the bill is signed, small businesses and nonprofits could apply for these grant funds to cover eligible expenses such as payroll, health benefits and reopening expenses.
