Lawyers recognized in “Best Lawyers in America”

The co-founders of Sorey & Gilliland, Dan Sorey and Derek Gilliland, were recognized in the 2022 edition of the legal guide “The Best Lawyers in America”.

This is Sorey’s second consecutive selection for inclusion on the list based on its work in personal injury litigation on behalf of plaintiffs.

Gilliland received double recognition in patent and patent litigation, his first in both areas.

“Dan and I share the belief that our customers’ wellbeing should take precedence over everything else,” said Gilliland. “Receiving such a recognition selected by colleagues confirms that we are successful on this front.”

Sorey represents clients injured due to the negligence of others in the Southwest and brings decades of law enforcement experience to his legal practice.

Gilliland handles all types of civil litigation, including patent infringement, personal injury, product liability and breach of contract. He has received a number of significant judgments, including the largest patent infringement judgment in Washington State history. He is a regular seminar speaker for the State Bar of Texas, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and other professional organizations. His work has also been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers.

The Best Lawyers in America is the country’s oldest legal advisor. The selection is based on an extensive review of nominees by lawyers within the same geographic region sharing a common practice focus, with the final selection being made by the publication’s research team.
