Firefighters examine in a single day West Ashley enterprise hearth
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleston police say a fire that night resulted in an evacuation at a nearby restaurant.
Charleston police say the fire was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday at Charleston Scuba on the 300 block of the Savannah Highway.
Police spokesman Charles Francis said the building is just behind the circular Holiday Inn near the Ashley River Bridges.
The waffle house next door has been evacuated and traffic diverted onto Highway 61 while firefighters responded, Francis said.
The fire brigade attached barrier tape to the crime scene and did not let anyone into the building early Friday morning. The investigators have not yet given any information about the cause of the fire.
