Former BYU DL Zac Dawe Indicators Contract With Atlanta Falcons

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU defender Zac Dawe has signed a free agent deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

Dawe, a former standout soccer and wrestling star at Pleasant Grove High School, is the 12th BYU soccer player to either be drafted or to sign a free agent contract in the 2021 class.

Zac Dawe career snapshot

Dawe played 38 games during his BYU career with 81 tackles, 13.5 tackles against loss, 4.5 sacks, two quarterback rushes, and three pass separations.

When Dawe dropped out of high school, he signed with BYU to play on the offensive. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Houston, where he returned in 2016. Dawe struggled with injuries and had left the team and lost his scholarship for a short time. During his absence, he was a security guard at Nu Skin in Provo.

Dawe turned his body into a defensive end, where he has made a significant contribution to BYU over the past two seasons.

During BYU’s 11-12020 season, Dawe had 8 career-level tackles in a comeback win over the Houston Cougars.
