SOFT BALL
Jets roll over cubs
MADISON – The bus with the Hauser softball team broke on the way to Madison on Wednesday, but the Jets made it in time and booked a 10-4 win.
Reagan Johnson went 4v5 with a double and three RBIs and led the Class A No. 7 (4-1) Jets with 13 hits. Hannah Taylor went 2 for 3, Kyra Meister went 2 for 4
Paige McDaniel and Dani Steward merged into a six.
Devils Top Panthers
NORTH VERNON – Jeffersonville scored five goals on Wednesday’s first inning, giving Jennings County an 8-3 loss at the Hoosier Hills Conference.
Tori Lee went 2 for 3 with a triple for the Panthers (1-4, 0-1). Taylor Mowery went 2 for 3.

East girls win, boys bind
The Columbus East girls defeated Seymour 68-64, and the boys tied the Owls 66-66 in a double game on Tuesday.
The Olympic girls’ winners were Katie Hagan in the pole vault, Gabi Schütz on 100 meters, Hallie Randle on 200 and Chloe Krueger on 3,200. East also captured the 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 relays.

Royals sweep jets
HOPE – Eastern Hancock had a double meeting at Hauser’s on Wednesday. The boys met between 100 and 14 and the girls between 90 and 24.
Adonah Riddle won the shot put (24 feet, 6 inches) and Marnie Schwartzkopf took the 800 (2 minutes, 49.5 seconds) to lead the Jet Girls. For the boys, Aleck Lopez was second in the long jump (18-3) and 100 (12.1).
Cougar Boys runner-up
RUSHVILLE – The South Decatur boys finished second and the Cougar girls came third in a tri-meet on Tuesday in Rushville.
Rushville won the boys’ meeting with 99 points and South Decatur beat North Decatur 35-33. Rushville took the girls with 72 points for 54 for North Decatur and 40 for the Cougars meet.
Lana Bell won the high jump (5-0) and the discus (91: 9) for the girls from South Decatur. Campbell Johannigman conquered the boys 300 hurdles (50.1).
GIRLS TENNIS
Rebels stop panthers
HANNOVER – Jennings County fell 3-1 against Southwestern (Hanover) on Wednesday. The single game No. 3 was stopped due to rain.
Reagan Brown defeated Elle Ford 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles for the Panthers (1-1). Carmen Kopitzke led Audrey Bare 6: 4, 7: 5, 4: 3 when the rain ended the game.
Jennings’ Tatum Brown fell 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles to Julia Worcester. Liz Ertel and Sydney Carson lost to Autumn Harmon and 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles, and Hannah Green and Cassidy Mull fell to Alliana Voorhies and Syernia Hardy 6-3, 6-2 in No. 1 1. 2 double rooms.
