Newport Information Public Faculties giving free meals to college students
The school system distributes prepackaged breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner twice a day. Families can pick up meals at the roadside.
NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Newport News Public Schools have started distributing free meals to their students as the children continue to teach virtually from home.
Starting Monday, the school department will be serving meals twice a day in a variety of locations in Newport News. This is all part of an updated meal plan.
Families can find a location near them and pick up a packaged breakfast, lunch, and dinner for each student.
On Friday, breakfast and lunch are also served for the weekend. Meals are distributed via the roadside pick-up. People just have to open their trunk and a team member will put the meals inside.
The afternoon roadside service is available Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:
- All NNPS elementary schools
- Marshall Early Learning Center
The evening curb service is available Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
- Crittenden Middle School
- Gildersleeve Middle School
- Hines middle school
- BT Washington Middle
- Denbigh High School
- Heritage High
- Warwick High
