Main Street Fort Dodge is looking for interested entrepreneurs who can use $ 28,000 to expand their business idea in the Fort Dodge Main Street district. The Open 4 Business Contest, launched in 2015, is an opportunity for businesses in a federally designated Main Street district to compete for the chance to win grants of up to $ 28,000 for a supporting business development or expansion project You are expanding your business.
Main Street Fort Dodge is hosting a local competition for existing businesses in the Main Street District. The local winner will receive $ 250. The business should fill a void that currently exists in our district. The application deadline for local applications ends on March 1st at 3 p.m. Applications are available on mainstreetfd.org.
Companies must complete an online application and submit a short video outlining their business idea and the benefits to the local business climate in their community. A 25% cash match is required. Companies must have been in operation for at least a year to apply. The grant is administered by the Downtown Resource Center and the Main Street Iowa program of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
There will be a live pitch competition on March 4th at 10 a.m. The location will be announced shortly on the Main Street Fort Dodge Facebook page. Companies must complete an online application and submit a five-minute application “Video Pitch” about their business idea. The video pitch is a simple video that provides information about the company and how they would invest the Open 4 Business grant funds to grow and grow their business. Videos are judged by content and can be recorded with a smartphone. Videos cannot be longer than five minutes. Be creative and have fun.
