Passenger numbers decline in January at Lincoln Airport | Native Enterprise Information
The new year brought no better air travel news for Lincoln Airport.
Only 4,413 passengers passed the airport in January, more than 500 compared to December and the lowest monthly total since June.
Compared to January 2020, the number was down 83%.
United Airlines, the only airline currently operating at the airport, had 4,353 passengers for the month, a 73% decrease from last year. The rest of the passengers were from charter flights, and that number was down 86% from the previous year.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, air traffic in 2020 fell by around two thirds worldwide compared to 2019. Lincoln Airport only had more than 103,000 passengers last year, a 69% decrease from the previous year.
