NEW ORLEANS – City officials want to help small businesses in New Orleans recover from the pandemic, but the city needs to know how businesses have been affected in order to recover.
The New Orleans Office of Economic Development wants entrepreneurs from a variety of industries and industries in the city to understand how best to help, a statement said in a statement.
The office created a survey for small business owners to find out how best to use the resources available.
Names and company names are optional, and people filling out a form can choose whether or not to be contacted.
The New Orleans Business Recovery Survey, due to be completed by April 9, asks about the type of company, the impact of COVID, and the risk of the company closing in the next six months.
The survey asks about grants and state aid to find out what has helped whom best.

The form asks about a company’s customer base and differentiates between tourists, locals, and a mix of both.
Entrepreneurs can help the city by letting them know if any of the following has helped their business:
- State or federal aid (PPP, EIDL, etc.)
- Stimulus checks, unemployment benefits
- Business demand improved or was not affected by a pandemic
- The landlord took care of rent relief
- The bank granted mortgage relief
- Community donations
- Used savings or accrued debt
- Relocation or closure of the physical location to reduce costs
- Reduce labor costs
- other
“We hope to reach a wide range of companies and industries to complete the survey,” the statement said. “Although the survey takes more than a few minutes (approximately 5-10 minutes) to complete, this information is important and will be used to help small businesses over the coming weeks and months.”
