As mentioned in the introduction, there is a tidal wave of sports on the shores of Florida starting this weekend, as the university’s director of sports, Scott Stricklin, notes below.
Extended break for @GatorsMBK but there are still plenty of Gator sports going on this weekend. @GatorsVB, @GatorsWBK & @GatorsWTN tonight, @GatorsGym tomorrow night, @GatorsGolf men are having a tournament this weekend, while @GatorsSB and @GatorsLAX are both open on the street. Good luck to the ๐ถ & ๐ท. #GoGators

Starting with yesterday’s results, there are nine teams, one of which is still down due to COVID-19. There is no time to waste so let’s get down to business.

The squad’s next streak begins on February 19 in Starkville, Mississippi, against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Both games are expected to begin at 6 p.m. EST.

The standout guards Kiki Smith and Lavender Briggs together scored 40 points while both scored doubles doubles.
The Lady Gators’ next scheduled game is Monday, February 15th against the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats at the O’Connell Center for the annual Play4Kay game. The game can be followed live on the SEC network. The tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.

– Gators Gymnastics (@GatorsGym) February 12, 2021
The high-ranking gymnastics team is facing the biggest challenge of the season tonight on their way against LSU in the biggest doubles of the season. This is the 25th meeting in a row between the teams where both were in the top 10 of the competition. These matchups are also historically eye-catching – in 23 meetings since 2013, 17 times less than half a point was the decisive advantage, and less than two tenths separated four of the last six final results.
Events begin at 7:30 p.m. EST and can be viewed as part of a triple header from SEC Network Friday Night Heights.

The # 7 softball team begins its spring season on Saturday with a double header against USF in Tampa. The third game in the series will be played on Sunday. It will be 339 days since the Gators last competed in an NCAA competition when Florida took the field. Both days begin at 1:00 p.m. EST, with the second double header game on Saturday likely immediately following the first. The games will be broadcast on ESPN +.
The # 8 women’s golf team will connect on Sunday at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida, which runs through Tuesday. The exact times for the opening of the tee have not yet been announced for the first Lady Gators competition in the spring season.
In case you missed the news, the game between the men’s basketball team and the Texas A&M Aggies this weekend has been postponed due to positive testing and the quarantine of sick or exposed individuals within the Aggies team. No makeup date has been announced yet.
