York enterprise proprietor maintains title of “First Friday” window adorning contest winner

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A local competition winner says the real prize is more than just “window dressing”.

On Friday, February 5th, abc27 News introduced Alexndria Hammond, who owns a York consignment store called My Girlfriend’s Wardrobe.

She was preparing for the annual “First Fridays” window decoration competition.

The votes are in on Monday and Hammond has been the winner for the second year running.

Dogs were available for adoption in her window. According to Hammond, the most exciting result is the presentation of the adoptees on site.

“We have some Instagram and Facebook messages and comments on prospects. So we directed them to True Rescue. And hopefully they’ll reach out to True Rescue and get a permit, and hopefully they can adopt one of the dogs, “said Hammond.

The My Girlfriend cloakroom owner is currently working on an animal rescue theme “First Friday” for April.
